Racial Justice is Important to Bethel
Racial Justice is Important to Bethel
As Christians are ambassadors of reconciliation, we have a unique and compelling
call to provide leadership for the benefit and dignity of all (2 Corinthians 5:16-20).
Would you join with us on this lifelong journey together to help our community
and nation flourish and thrive, as we walk hand in hand and heart to heart to see
people of all races and ethnicities able to contribute equally to society. We have
not achieved perfection, but desire to move toward the perfection of the Kingdom of God.
Summary of Bethel’s Position on Racial Justice
We believe scripture tells us that all people have been created in the image of God
(Genesis 1:26-28), including every culture, race, and ethnicity.
All rights, privileges, and responsibilities are afforded to us as image bearers;
to take care of the earth and each other, and also be part of that multitude
"…from every tribe, nation and tongue” (Revelation 7:9-11).
Our call to action is to cultivate relationships within our congregation and among our neighbors of every color and
ethnicity, and partner together in support of God’s work for Unity, Justice, Peace, and Mercy.
